Our Business
Adept Solutions is a specialist software company founded in 2006. We develop and support hydrocarbon accounting systems for the oil and gas industry. Our product, Axis, is used by oil companies around the world for the business critical activities of production allocation and reporting. Our customers range from small independents to large nationals and multinationals. We are highly responsive to their needs, providing customised solutions that are accurate, reliable and cost effective. We have many years’ experience of the production business and an outstanding track record of delivering complex projects quickly and successfully.
Axis is a flexible hydrocarbon accounting system that is used by oil and gas companies worldwide to obtain complete accountability of production, leading to improved data integrity and deeper operational insight.
Meet the leadership team
Richard Alderson
Richard Alderson is the Managing Director of Adept Solutions. Richard established the company and devised the concept of Axis in 2006 and has since overseen its development into a comprehensive hydrocarbon accounting system used by clients across the world.
With an honours degree in physics from Imperial College, an MBA from Edinburgh University and over 30 years’ experience of the global energy sector, Richard has a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of production data processes and has helped to implement systems for many of the world’s leading oil and gas operators.
With overall responsibility for system development as well as project delivery, Richard has driven Adept’s growth over the last ten years, during which time it has become a leading provider of hydrocarbon accounting systems.
Steve Penman
In his role as client director, Steve has responsibility for driving the company’s ambitious growth strategy as it continues to look to capitalise on major opportunities within the global energy sector.
Steve has held a number of senior management roles within the IT business sector for more than 30 years and specialises in business development.
With a broad knowledge of the upstream oil and gas industry and expertise in the hydrocarbon accounting sector, Steve has strong delivery management pedigree that underpins his business development outlook.
